These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Project Jules website, reader experience, and related mobile applications (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who May Use the Services

You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and comply with applicable law. The Services are not directed to children under 13. If you create an account, you are responsible for your account, credentials, and activity under your account.

2. Our Services

Project Jules offers a reading experience for classic books, AI-powered reading features, and tools that let users upload their own books for personal use inside the Services. Features may change, be added, or be removed over time.

3. Catalog Books

We aim to offer catalog books that we believe are in the public domain or otherwise lawfully available. Rights and availability can vary by country, region, edition, translation, or related asset. We may remove, suspend, or restrict access to any catalog title or related asset if we believe doing so is appropriate for legal, rights, or compliance reasons.

4. User Uploads

You may upload a book or other content only if you own it or have the rights needed to upload, store, and use it through the Services. Uploaded books are intended for the account that uploaded them and are not shown to other end users by default.

You retain ownership of your uploaded content. However, you grant Project Jules a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, format, process, index, transmit, and display that content as needed to operate, secure, improve, and support the Services for you, including through service providers acting on our behalf.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that infringes another person's rights.
• Use the Services to violate law or the rights of others.
• Interfere with the security, integrity, or operation of the Services.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
• Upload harmful code, malware, or content intended to disrupt the Services.

6. AI Features

Some features use third-party AI models or infrastructure to process prompts, excerpts, uploaded content, and related context. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, biased, or unsuitable for your intended use. You should independently review important outputs before relying on them.

7. Intellectual Property

The Services, including our software, branding, design, and original product content, are owned by Project Jules or its licensors and are protected by law. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Services for personal, lawful use.

Public-domain status of an underlying text does not mean all related assets or product-layer materials are public domain. Covers, illustrations, metadata, summaries, AI outputs, and other surrounding materials may have different rights.

8. Rights Concerns and Removal Requests

If you believe a catalog title or related asset infringes your rights or should not be available in a particular jurisdiction, contact us at projectjvbooks@gmail.com.

We may review the request, ask for additional information, and remove, disable, or restrict access to the relevant content while we investigate.

9. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for other users, or exposed Project Jules to legal or security issues. You may stop using the Services at any time.

10. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Project Jules disclaims warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and availability.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Project Jules and its affiliates, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business interruption arising out of or related to your use of the Services.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the date above and provide additional notice where appropriate. Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
